I feel old today

MIC"S GRADUATION DAY Mic had an awesome day today. He had a smile on his face the whole day. I do feel old today because I can remember my graduation day and that seems so far away and to have our son graduated from High School just made me feel old. In this pictures below he got to sit on the stand because he tried out to speak at graduation. He came so close and his tryout speech was awesome! He is sitting on the second row from back 7 over from the right. He is sitting between 2 girls and has silver cords on. He got the silver cords because he got the award for being in the top 10 % of his class in GPA.
This is Mic again on the left. The guy on the right is a speaker, so when they showed the speaker on the big screen Mic was in the background. They turned off the lights during the remaining program so you could not see Mic anymore when speakers spoke, but it was cool to see him on the big screen for a little bit.

Mic opening his gifts and he got money and was so excited!

Mic's piano cake that was fun to make.

90 rolls in one night!

You know how you spend hours making a meal and it's gone in like a half hour. I normally don't do that, but Sunday I thought I would try it, so I put a roast in the crock pot with peeled and cut carrots and potatoes and onions and seasonings and cooked it all day.. okay that part did not take me hours, maybe 1.

Then I had this idea to make rolls from scratch, my moms rolls. They are so good and I knew my kids and Andy would love me. I made the whole recipe which makes about 90 rolls, thinking we would have left overs or some to share. I made the dough and let it rise for 2 hours then punched it down right before church and rolled them out, cut them and placed them on the pan to rise for 2 more hours, but I knew it would be 4 hours before we got home so I hoped they would not rise too much.

We got home and they were perfect, then I baked them and brushed them with butter. Is your mouth watering right now? Can you smell them? Oh, they were good and all gone an hour after dinner. I kept looking at the pan and more would disappear, then they were gone. I did not even get one to save for a snack later. WE ATE 90 ROLLS!!!!! Holy cow! That's like a dozen each. Well, I did not eat a dozen, maybe 6 of them. Sorry, I was going to share but they were gone like that and I forgot to take a picture of them.

It might be awhile before I make them again cause they take a lot of time, so my family will have to wait. I might make bread sticks out of them for the Young at Heart tho.

Mic's Seminary Graduation and Twin Sisters

Congratualations Mic!!!! Mic did a great job giving a wonderful talk and doing a musical with his friend. I can't believe he is graduating and going off to College and then a mission in 8 months. Mic was just this little guy (2) running around saying "I do, I do". That's was basically his first words and now he is all grown up. I am sad, but I am happy at the same time. I'm excited to see how he does on his own. Okay someone else has to learn to play the piano or I'm seriously going to go crazy without it! Haley is learning, but hurry up. Ha Ha!

This is my Mom Alice and Alice Ann Young. I have always thought they look alike and they have the same name. I had to get a picture. I asked Alice Ann to come and meet her twin sister.

Prom # 2 if you can see it

Here is Mic's last prom. The pictures are very small which I got off facebook. I'm waiting for a CD. Mic had a blast and they had a lot of fun. It was hard having 2 proms in one night at 2 different schools. I wanted to go to both of their houses to get pictures but they were doing them at the same time. Parker was ready and Mic's group was still going around picking up their dates, so I went to Rachel's(Parker's date) house and got pictures and I ended up not getting to Mic's to get pictures, but they are making a CD. Here are the pictures. Hope you can see them.

A GIGANTIC Mother's Day card

I love cards on Mother's Day! They are the best gifts and my kids all made me cards. Parker and Haley had a contest to see who could make me cry the most. First I read Parker's which is this one, the gigantic one(The frame by it is a 8 x 10, so you can see how big it is). His made me cry and so Haley said I am going to make Mom cry more. I was crying at all their cards. The things they wrote were from the heart. I loved it and I felt loved. This is what Parker wrote in his if you can read it. If you click on the picture you can read it better.
This is Haley's card to me.

This is Zac's card that he made at school

And this is Reilly's card he made at school. Mic's gift is not ready yet, but he has spent 3 hours on it and he also cleaned all the windows inside our house on Sat. I have wonderful kids. And I feel loved. I even got Mother of the Year award from my Mom and sisters. They gave me a big pot of pretty white flowers. Now that made me cry too. Happy Mothers Day everyone!

Hope of America for the 4th time!!!

I totally love this program. We have gone to it 4 times now with our kids and we have one more to go. Those are kids in the flag with red, white and blue shirts on. It's so cool Reilly and his cousin Madi who were both in the program
The gang

Reilly's birthday was the same night so we made a big sign to hold up and Reilly saw it from the floor. We were sitting way up high. I told Reilly to look for the big green sign, that way he would be able to see where we were sitting. It worked.

Smile Reilly!

Mic's Court of Honor

Congratulations Mic! We had over 90 people to come and see Mic's Court of Honor. Wow! We almost did not have enough chairs and cake. Thank you all for coming, that meant alot to Mic. Thank you for supporting him in his project and being there for him. Now we get to work on Parker. I think Mom and Dad's should have their Eagles too with all the work that goes into it. Where is my award???? Oh wait..... it's Mic and how proud of him I am. It feels so awesome to have an Eagle Scout for a son. Great job Mic! The family of the Eagle Scout.
Mic putting the Dad pin on his Dad. The Mom picture did not turn out so good.

Mic really felt that he wanted to give the mentor pin to Jeremy West. Mic really looked up to him and had some great times in scouts with him. Reilly is now in 11 year old scouts and we wish that the West were no moving. You guys are great with scouts

Mic and his Eagle we got him.

Winter is back!!!! NO!!!!!!! More pictures of the snow

Here is some more pictures of the 8 inches that fell in one night. This is looking across the street
Parker walking down the front steps

8 inches of snow on our car!!!

The coolest snowman ever. Potatoes for the eyes, broccoli for nose and carrots for the mouth and sticks for the arms. I love it!

I knew there was a reason I did not change my background of snowflakes.. winter decided to come back with full force today. This is crazy, but when I got home from the movies Parker had a huge cool snowman in the front yard for me. I was so excited cause I love snowmen in the front yard. Maybe they will build more for me cause it really snowed a ton more all night long. Is spring going to ever get here or did we just get a tiny taste of it a few days ago? Did summer get skipped and is winter here again?

Can't they just go away!!!!

I did the treadmill 2 days in a row and did sit ups and lunges, but today I am pretty sore and decided to rest, I also have done something to my neck because I cant turn my head so I did not do the treadmill today. But hey, I did some cleaning yesterday and today so that counts as exercise, right? I'm doing okay on the treats and have had only a few.

Yesterday I cleaned more of my kitchen, like pulled out the stove and the fridge and under the sink and I found lots of crumbs and mouse pooh! Just lovely! Thanks to that field next door we have mice. Not so nice. I guess I will be the only one to sweep cause I think the kids just sweep the crumbs under stuff and the mice are getting a big feast! Well, I got a mask on, opened windows and put gloves on and vacuumed it all up then mopped the floor and put everything back. It took me all day, and it's still not clean. I cleaned out cabinets and drawers too. I still have baseboards to clean, blinds to clean, and a few cabinets. But I'm too tired. I actually just want to blow up my house and build another one so it's all nice and clean. That would be nice. I went and bought mouse traps, the cheap ones since they work the best, and I caught 2 mice last night while we were sleeping. I hope I get them all. I think we need another cat, which we might have to do.

I NEED help.....

finding some motivation to EXERCISE!

So, today was the first day I have had alone. It's snowing and cold and so it's a great day to stay inside with no one home ALL day. I have been trying to get on the treadmill for months and be consistent, so I can be ready to run outside. The most I have done is 3 days in a row, then it ends. Well today I forced myself to get on the treadmill. First I had to figure out how to put music on a MP3 player since my other one is not working and I wanted the same songs, so I sat down at the computer and figured out how to delete all the songs on this other MP3 player and put my songs on it. I'm amazed I did it, and I found some motivation to do the treadmill. I got everything I needed and got on it before I lost that motivation and 30 min later I was done with 100 sit ups and lunges. Oops I might be really sore from those. I decided to run for 6 min straight without stopping, then when I got to 6 I said to myself " I can do more" so I had a goal to run 8, then 10, then 12. I had run a mile! I know I'm really slow. I went a total of 3 miles with walking, running, using weights, and doing the incline. I DID IT! Now lets see if I can do it the next day, and the next, and the next, and.... I HAVE TOO, that's where I need your help. Prayers, words, keeping chocolate away from me, ANYTHING! I have to do this so I have things to wear this summer. All my summer clothes are tight and I'm not buying new ones. I really love to run, especially in the mornings when it's warm and not freezing like today. If I can just do this for 2 weeks I think I will be on my way. I've got to do this. Now, I've got to clean my house... hey, that's more exercise. I really just want to lay on my bed right now and watch a movie with no one home, but..... I can't, not till I clean this house, then I can.

2 Hours later....

Dishes done, fridge, pantry, microwave, stove all cleaned out, floor swept and mopped and carpet vacuumed in kitchen, and laundry going. The kitchen cupboards and drawers and blinds will have to wait till another day. They are bad inside and they need organized! Now I'm going to vacuum the entire house since I just cleaned out the vacuum just now, so it will work better. Then we will see about a movie or better yet a NAP!

1 hour later...

Whole house is vacuumed except behind couches, beds, and dressers, ( that will have to wait for another day) but it looks much better and it's amazing how good the vacuum picks up once you clean the vacuum first. Now I think I better shower and go grocery shopping since the pantry and fridge are empty, run a few errands, and then maybe I can watch a movie... oh wait then the kids will be home by then... hey maybe I can put them to work cleaning more then I can watch a movie while they are cleaning.... Yeah right, like that will happen. Check back later and see where my motivation takes me. Hopefully this motivation will last 2 weeks or I'm in trouble. I still need your help. anything. Oh, and by the way I have not had a treat YET!

4 hours later...

got all my errands done, did some more laundry and bought vegetables, and fruits and no treats at the grocery store. Still have not had a treat! I'm kinda crashing tho and want one really bad!!

4 hours later....

finished all my laundry, went to YW, YM combined mutual activity and got some exercise running around with 5 youth in my car doing R. A. K (random acts of kindness). We even got a candy bar at one house and I did not eat it,.... but shoot I just remembered we got a handful of M & M's at another house and I ate about 5, but maybe that does not count because I did not want to be rude and not take any. She was so happy to give them out. This activity was so much fun and it felt good to do nice things for people. The youth loved it, and want to do it again.

So there is my day, now I'm ready to lay down and watch American Idol and go to bed. I hope I can keep this up. I might have to have a treat here and there to keep me going. But that's okay, right?? Sorry this post is so long, but I had fun doing it and getting some exercise.

Oh no..... Haley wants to make oatmeal raisin cookies right now and it's 9:30. I love those cookies, but hey oatmeal is good for you right. Okay, I will just have one and run an extra 5 min tomorrow for it.

Driving on a blanket of snow

This is what it looked like in Heber today way up in the mountains. I found this picture on the Internet, but this is what it looked like as we drove up to a cabin to clean it. Good thing we have a 4 wheel drive or we could not have made it. We drove on a road to the cabin that had not been plowed at all and I was the first one to drive on it. It was about a foot deep and we drove through it just fine. My sister Joni and I were pretty nervous but we ended up laughing and loving it. It was so beautiful this morning and I found this picture that looked like how we saw it. White, soft, untouched, and beautiful. Now we just need spring to get here and stay. This is all the winter I can take. Where is the sunshine and warmth?

Parker's soccer cake, and gifts

Parker's 16th birthday!

These are Parker's new soccer shoes for his birthday. He got them about 2 weeks ago so it was an early present. Soccer shoes cost ALOT! Especially when he needs some that will last since he plays alot.
This is #2 soccer cake I made in a week. Parker loves soccer and he wanted a soccer cake just like Zac's. Everyone wanted a piece of the soccer ball and it actually fed everyone. Now there is just a big hole in the middle of the cake. I went to his weight training class with a big poster and a big bag of treats and all the soccer guys sang happy birthday to him. Then at soccer practice someone, they don't know who brought lots of cupcakes. They are not sure if they were for Parkers birthday, but they all ate them anyway. Parker said it might have been from the cheerleaders. He has a few fans. Ha Ha!

Happy 16th Birtday Parker!!!! Now you can DATE, and drive in May when you get your licence This is a poster I made him cause he loves candy. It says...

When you were born the doctor took extra care (gum) of you. Although he did have to give you a shot in your heel to check your blood and it gave you DOTS. You were such a cute baby(baby ruth). What cute little fingers( butterfinger) you had. As you got older the girls started to notice that your were not a Nerd(nerds candy) and that you were a 100 grand(candy bar). All the babes(sugar babies) were after you but you had plenty(Good & Plenty) of soccer to keep you busy. You had many crunches(crunch candy bar) to do at recess(reese's candy bar). When you get your licence you will be a lifesaver(lifesaver jelly beans), but dont roll(rolo candy bar) the car and get your licence twixed(twix candy bar) away. Happy Birthday Parker!

The soccer cake

Happy Birthday Zac!! Zac's birthday was March 20th and he turned 9. He wanted a soccer cake so I made him a soccer ball on a green field. I'm not a professional, but it was fun and the ball actually turned out nice and round. It was fun, and when it was time to cut the cake, everyone wanted a piece of the ball so there ended up being a big hole in the middle of the green field. He loves soccer, but ended up getting a basketball and basketball shoes for his birthday. He wants to try out all kinds of sports. We took him out to eat and he was so excited he got to order from the adults menu instead of the kids. He even warned everyone not to eat his left overs because he wanted to eat them for lunch the next day. He should have duck taped it closed because someone took a few bites he said and he was not very happy. Over all he thanked me for everything and said he had a great birthday. Oh, and I also embarrassed him at school by bringing him a balloon and treats for his class and we all sang to him. He loved everything. Zac and his birthday cake. He finally smiled after 3 pictures.
A better view of the not so professional cake, but fun to make. Zac did the goal post and his name.
